Ronnie O'Sullivan saw off a spirited challenge from 16-year-old Chinese player Yan Bingtao to book his place in the second round of the World Grand Prix in Preston.
The Rocket opened up with a break of 137 and then went on to lead 2-0 before Bingtao produced a response to level after making three half-century breaks.
No 5 seed O'Sullivan, however, got himself back in front with a run of 59 and then secured a place in the last 16 with another impressive break of 128 to win 4-2.
